STEÁRIC, stearici, adj. (În sintagma) Acid stearic = acid solid, incolor, puţin solubil în apă, care se găseşte combinat cu glicerina în grăsimile animale şi vegetale şi care se întrebuinţează la fabricarea lumânărilor, în cosmetică etc. [pr.: ste-a-] – Din fr. stéarique.
