STROP, stropi, s.m. 1. Particulă globulară dintr-un lichid; cantitate mică dintr-un lichid; spec. picătură de ploaie. ♢ loc. adv. Strop cu (sau de) strop = picătură cu picătură; puţin câte puţin; încetul cu încetul. Până la un strop = până nu mai rămâne nimic. Nici un strop = nimic. ♦ Lacrimă. 2. fig. Cantitate foarte mică dintr-o materie solidă; fărâmă. – Probabil din stropi (derivat regresiv).
