Care nu există în realitate; creat, plăsmuit de imaginaţie; ireal, fantasmagoric, fabulos. ♦ Literatură fantastică = gen de literatură în care elementul preponderent îl constituie imaginaţia, irealul. 2. Care pare o plăsmuire a imaginaţiei; p. ext. extraordinar, grozav, de necrezut. ♢ (Adverbial) Produs fantastic de scump. 3. (Despre oameni) Ale cărui idei sau fapte au un caracter fantezist, bizar. – Din fr. fantastique, lat. phantasticus.
