FIDEÍSM s.n. 1. Concepţie filozofică iraţionalistă care dă credinţei prioritate faţă de ştiinţă sau pune credinţa pe acelaşi plan cu ştiinţa. 2. Concepţie iraţionalistă, dezavuată de biserică, potrivit căreia credinţa ar depinde mai ales de sentiment, putând ajunge singură la adevăruri superioare, inaccesibile raţiunii. [pron. -de-ism. / < fr. fidéisme, cf. lat. fides – credinţă].
