JANSENÍSM s.n. Mişcare religioasă apărută în Franţa în sec. XVII ca o expresie a nemulţumirii păturilor intelectuale ale burgheziei şi nobilimii faţă de regimul absolutist şi faţă de dominaţia iezuiţilor şi care propovăduia rigorismul moral. [< fr. jansénisme, cf. Jansénius – teolog olandez\}.
