leáncă (lénci), s.f. – 1. Manta. – 2. Haină uzată. – 3. Femeie neglijentă. Rut. ljanka "haină de pînză de in", din sl. lininŭ "de in" (Cihac, II, 167; Iordan, Dift., 78; DAR), cf. pol. lnjanka. Scriban derivă ultimul sens din numele de femeie (I)leana; cf. totuşi, pentru evoluţia semantică, buleandră, treanţă, hanţă, etc. Leancă, s.f. (urzitoare) pare să fie acelaşi cuvînt (sensul ar fi de "alergătoare" şi expresia a umbla leanca "a hoinări"). Skok 71 şi DAR pleacă de la sb. lijenka "prăjină de întins rufele spălate"; dar semantismul nu este convingător.
